This small kitchen renovation is truly a masterpiece! Scroll through our post to see how our Minnesota design build team took this space from dark and lacking function to a thoughtful and updated kitchen design that wowed our clients.
In this Richfield, MN kitchen remodel, our clients desired an updated space for their family. Their kitchen was lacking rhyme or reason and was very cramped. Taking the cabinets to the ceiling, reconfiguring the layout, and updating the finishes were the three main pain points that were solved in this wonderful project.
Kitchen Design: From Cramped to Functional
The main difference in this before and after transformation is the added functionality. The cabinets were brought to the ceiling throughout which maximized the small space immensely, and each side of the updated galley kitchen now had its designated task areas (i.e. prep space and serving space and an added peninsula).
Proper Storage Makes All The Difference
To continue with the theme of bringing more functionality to this space, specifically small space, many storage solutions were included in the design. To name a few: a flip-up garage style cabinet to house small appliances, a trash and recycling pull-out cabinet, and a pantry cabinet with roll-out shelves.
Style and Flair to Liven Up the Space
What we learned during the design process for this Richfield home is that our client’s style is very distinctive. They love modern, but not too modern. Our design team opted for two-tone cabinets, LVP flooring, and sleek hardware to fit the bill.
The bar area directly off the kitchen may be our favorite part of this project! As you can tell, it is definitely a much better use of the space, and it adds the perfect flair to the home. The slatted, sliding doors, and deep drawers were must-haves for the space, and we think they definitely make the space the statement that it is.
Do you have a small kitchen? It can feel like you are limited when it comes to a kitchen design, but we are here to prove you wrong! No matter the size, achieving a beautiful and functional space is always possible with great design, a team that listens to your worries and asks the right questions, and contractors to install and execute the design on-time and professionally.
