Minnesota Contractor’s Workmanship Guarantee from Titus Contracting INC
One of the most frequently asked questions we get when we meet with homeowners to discuss their home remodeling project is, ”do we warranty our work?”
That’s a reasonable question and as a consumer, you are right to want the peace of mind when hiring a remodeling contractor in Minnesota by knowing that they will stand behind their work. Let Titus Contracting put your mind at ease and answer many of the specific warranty questions. You will find that in every way, we make property management and home improvement projects easier for you. We are happy to answer any of your questions about our superior workmanlike manner, express warranties, the statute of limitations, guaranteed year length, and anything else that you want to ask us about.
What is a Workmanship Warranty?
A warranty is an agreement promising to repair or replace something in your home that was defective or built or installed incorrectly if necessary within a specified time from the completion date. Typically, the warranty is explained and included in the contract.
A warranty is designed to protect both the homeowner as well as us as the builder. As mentioned above, it protects the homeowner from defects or poor workmanship and it protects us as a builder for being liable for projects forever.
What You Can Expect From Titus Contracting INC
We stand behind our work and want to ensure our customers that within the first year of completion of your project, we will come out and fix anything that was part of your project that is not working properly or is deemed defective. (This will be based on The MN Builders Assoc. and AIA standards.)

Your Home and Your Properties are Your Biggest Asset
According to Shaina Mishkin, in her April 5, 2018 article titled Affordable Renovations Boost Home Value, “Chances are your home is the most expensive thing you’ve ever bought. She goes on to say, As a group, we’re expected to spend $340 billion fixing up our homes this year, according to Harvard University’s Joint Center for Housing Studies. That’s about four times as much as we spend on summer vacations and nearly as much as we sock away annually in our 401(k)s.”
We understand that your home is likely your biggest asset and when you invest in upgrades such as room additions, new offices, kitchen, and bath remodels, updating your basement or adding a theatre room – you want to be covered from anything going wrong while adding to the value of your property. We also offer design-build tips throughout the project.
We carefully vet our subcontractors for their workmanship and expect the same from them as we expect from ourselves.

Warranty of New Appliance & Other Items Not Covered
If you decide to remodel your kitchen and purchase new appliances, you will want to understand the warranty given by the manufacturer of the appliance. Most often the store where you purchased the appliance does not cover a warranty, however, as a consumer, you will want to ask. Also, manufacturer warranties vary and often they want to sell you extended warranty plans.
According to Consumer reports extended warranty buying guide, they surveyed consumer purchasing appliances and learned “seventy-eight percent said their checkout didn’t conclude without at least a suggestion that they purchase a service plan.
At some stores, shoppers felt “strongly urged” to spring for the extra coverage. Twenty percent of major appliance shoppers reported buying the coverage, compared with 3 percent of those who purchased small appliances.”
Warranty tips offered by consumer reports include:
- Repairs May Be Covered by Manufacturer’s Warranty
- Manufacturers Sometimes Cover Out-of-Warranty Items
- Your Credit Card May Have You Covered
When the cost of extended warranty plans become prohibitive, consider:
- Self-Insuring through a home warranty policy
- Buy Reliable Products
- Read Manufacturer Warranties Before Buying
- Examine the Retailer’s Return Policy
