Many home remodeling projects are perfect for MN winter months that are often more relaxed.
Even though the calendar says we still have a few more weeks of fall, winter is officially here. Plummeting temperatures and snow are sure signs that there are several cold months ahead of us here in Minnesota. And as home remodelers in Minneapolis, you would think this would signal the start of our slow season. But this is not the case! Here are a few of our favorite winter home remodeling projects.
Install New Hardwood Floors
Winter is a great time of year to get new hardwood floors installed, especially if you’re already having a room in your home remodeled anyway. Consider hardwood floors (unless you are having your bathroom remodeled). This time of year, the air is dry, so that helps to prevent gapping in the boards. Plus, the decrease in the air humidity lowers the chances of water damage. And the biggest perk? Hardwood floors will insulate your home better than old and worn flooring. As home remodelers, we can install hardwood flooring when we tackle your next home renovations project.
Get Your Lower Level Remodeled
Because your basement is already part of your home and is fully indoors, this is a great winter time project. So when you hire us as your home remodelers, we won’t have to leave any areas of your home open to the outdoor elements and bad weather. The dry winter air also comes into play here. The dry air means there is less of a chance of mold forming on exposed surfaces (although we take every precaution to ensure this does not happen anyway).
Spruce Up Your Bathroom or Kitchen Over the Winter
Much like your lower level, your bathroom and kitchen are already part of your home. So you won’t have to worry about any part of your home being exposed to the harsh outdoor elements if you have home remodelers like us come in and work on these rooms. Other home upgrades are best not to tackle in winter.
There will be no need to keep your outside doors hanging open. Once again, the dry winter air works in your favor here because whatever adhesive or paint needs to dry will dry faster in this type of weather as compared to the humid summer air.
