Granite is one of the most popular building materials in the United States, used in both homes and commercial properties. Having granite is often seen as a sign of luxury and class, and for businesses or commercial properties that want to present this to clients or customers, there isn’t an easier way to do so.
For many, granite is associated with one thing: countertops. The rise of granite countertops in many homes has forever led to the two being thought of together.
One of the reasons granite is so beloved is that every slab is unique, and there is a seemingly endless array of colors and patterns. If you can think of it, there is most likely a granite slab that exists as you envisioned it. For property owners that want a counter surface material with many different options, granite is great because it comes in the basics: brown, black and white, the popular blue, green and so forth, and the “bold” reds and pinks.
Ultimately, the choice is yours, but if you’re having trouble picking a color, here are a few tips to keep in mind before making a final selection:
- What color or material are the cabinets or the island? You’ll want to pick a color that compliments the cabinetry instead of having it stick out.
- What color are the walls? Choose a granite slab that goes with the entire area and not just the cabinetry will best serve the room.
- Ask your fabricator if you can use a few samples to test the area. This will be the best way to make sure the colors you’re considering are the best for the area.
No matter what color you pick, make sure it’s one that will appeal to a wide range of clients. With granite, there is really no wrong choice, but one you with which you just have to be comfortable. After all, granite countertops can be one of your biggest strengths when you try to sell or lease a space.
