Showcasing the exciting results of the Burnsville MN Aloha Monkey Renovation
Lee Lawrence of Titus Contracting Inc., worked with the owner, Josh, of the Aloha Monkey tattoo shop for a full new retail building renovation. the fully renovated Burnsville MN Aloha Monkey building turned out stunning!
The need for the business remodeling project began when the owner of the Aloha Monkey had the opportunity to purchase a stand-alone building near their previous location a couple of years ago. Purchasing the building allowed the Aloha Monkey to double their size. Additionally, the complete ownership of the building, versus renting in their previous location, allowed the owner to completely custom design the shop to fit the needs and wants of their business.
Aloha Monkey Remodeling Project Goals 
The Aloha Monkey is a local Burnsville, MN tattoo shop. The owner purchased a building nearby their previous location and, working with an architect and Titus Contracting, was able to transform the old 1970s service station into a new, professional office building.
In order to complete the construction project, the building was completely stripped down to its shell. All the old electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and exterior fake veneer were removed. An addition was added to the back half of the building taking it from 1500 square ft to 3000 square ft. A new trash enclosure was added, along with brand new windows and doors.
Aloha Monkey Remodeling Project Process
Digging began on June 4th, 2018 and the shop was officially reopened in their new location on October 15th 2018.
The outside of the building was refinished with new stucco and brick veneer. The entire parking lot was also reworked with brand new curbs, gutters, and blacktop.
Inside, all new electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and lighting were added. The new commercial space took shape as walls were framed, and insulation and drywall were added. Brand new custom laminate cabinets were installed throughout, along with quartz countertops. The new flooring consisted of tile (in the bathrooms), stained concrete, and LVT vinyl flooring. New neon signs were also added and fresh paint throughout.

The Aloha Monkey benefited from their remodel by being able to completely customize their space to perfectly meet their needs and vision. They also were able to increase in size. The new, stand-alone building, with new exterior signage, gives the business better visibility. Customers of the Aloha Monkey can enjoy the beautiful new space and it’s fresh updated feel!
Titus Contracting was working with a tight timeline for this project. The business owner had a goal of an October 15th opening, and with a June 4th start, Titus Contracting was able to deliver this major project in 4 months and meet the deadline.
