Fun, but Functional

For both the exterior and the interior, this client had a request: “Make it fun!” We were happy to honor this request. This is also proof that a second story addition isn’t just a functional upgrade: it can also seriously upgrade your curb appeal. 

Laundry on the same level as bedrooms makes washing convenient 

Moving the laundry to the same level as the bedrooms makes laundry day a breeze – no more lugging baskets up and down stairs. We raised the washer and dryer to account for more storage. During the framing stage, we found available space to use for storage – which was nice to gain.

Bathrooms for thee and me – master bath and kid bathroom

Reduce morning congestion with bathroom spaces for everyone. We added dedicated baths for the master suite and the kids to share. In the master, we used a double wide single sink to have a two sink experience – even with limited space to work with.

Year-round porch, even in the coldest of Minnesota winters

The house had an existing porch, but it wasn’t heated and was under-utilized. We built a 4-season porch that can be comfortably used year-round. The new space is cozy and expands the use of the main level.
